This paper expounds the connotation of the SOA,studies the function and characteristics of SOA in information and enterprise application,whose properties make enterprise solve the new business needs,in accordance with the way to add new modular service or update the existing service,provides the choice which can provide services through different channels,and can put the enterprise existing application as a service,thus protect the existing IT infrastructure investment.
