There Is No Shortage of Miracle—A Brief Discussion on the Teaching of Vocabulary

摘要 尽管对于英语学习者来说,建立并保证一定的词汇量对英语学习有着举足轻重的作用,然而英语词汇教学的地位却经历了巨大的变化。上世纪五六十年代,听说法在整个教学法中占据了主导地位,词汇教学遭遇了巨大的忽视。随着二十世纪七十年代交际法的出台,词汇教学的地位渐渐上升。本文中,笔者通过观察法,对当前英语词汇"教"与"学"的现状进行了调查,指出其中存在的某些问题。并在回顾当前各种词汇教学方法的基础上,探讨了基于交际法的几种在实际中较切实可行的词汇教学技巧。 With the shift of dominant teaching methodology from audio-lingualism to communicative approach,the teaching of vocabulary has experienced great neglect to wide popularity.In the present paper,the author views the current vocabulary teaching through classroom observation and analyzes some of its problems.On the basis of reviewing the current trends in language learning and teaching,the paper suggests a communicative approach in vocabulary teaching and discusses some practical techniques which would be helpful at the level of classroom action.
