In recent yearn,the British & American Culture course for non-English majors has emerged as a result of college English curricular reform.The'SCCP'approach,an eclectic approach to culture and language teaching,is tentatively put forward to develop intercultural competence and further improve students'ability to use language appropriately.This paper expounds some of the theoretical perspectives of this approach,its characteristics,the role of teachers and students,as well as the procedures and techniques in classroom teaching.
