摘要
中西方由于长期以来形成的生活环境、风俗习惯、价值观念的不同,形成了各自的饮食文化上的许多差异,主要表现在饮食观念、饮食内容、烹饪方法、进餐方式、菜式命名等方面。而英译的中餐菜单的读者主要是外国客人,所以在翻译中餐菜名时,译者尤其要注意把握好两者间的饮食文化差异,灵活运用好直译、意译、音译等翻译手法.
China and the western countries have formed different food cultures due to the difference in the living environment,customs,value concepts that have shaped for a long time.The difference in food culture is mainly represented in the food concept,the food material,the cooking methods,dining manners,naming of dishes,etc.Since the readers of the English version of Chinese menus are mainly foreigners,during the translation,the translator should pay attention to the difference in food culture and use the translation methods flexibly such as literal translation,free translation,etc.
