英汉作文表达对比分析

A Contrastive Analysis of Expressions in English and Chinese Writing.

本文采用对比分析法,从英汉词汇语义、习惯搭配、习语用法及表达特点方面对英汉语言进行了对比,着眼于其差异,由此发现:英汉语言中,有许多词汇的语义相异或冲突;汉语的表达模糊笼统,而英语表达较为具体精确;英汉两种语言赖以生存的文化背景差异决定了习语用法的相异性;汉语倾向于用具体手段表达抽象概念,汉语重具体表达,英语重抽象表达,英汉表达特点有显著差异.了解这些差异对于提高英语作文水平有重要意义.

The contrastive analysis method is adopted in the paper to contrast word meanings,collocations, idioms and expression characteristics in English and Chinese with the aim of discovering the differences.It leads to the results:semantic non-correspondence exists in both languages;Chinese expressions are characteristic of vagueness,while the English counterparts are relatively concrete;the different cultural background in which each language is rooted results in the differences in the usage of Chinese idioms and English idioms;there is a tendency for Chinese to favor concreteness and use concrete expressions to convey abstract ideas,while English prefers abstractness.A good command of the knowledge will be helpful in improving English writing.
