摘要
空间是把握社会、认识社会的重要基础,也是表达各种认知成果的基础。空间隐喻已渗透人类的语言与思维中,以其范畴化和概念化表现了人类认知世界、创造语言的过程。本文论述了在时间、范围、状态、数量和社会地位等范畴构建的空间隐喻,以期更深地了解和认识空间及其隐喻规律。本研究将有助于帮助学习者认识词汇意义引申、语法格式等语言现象,还有助于提高学习者的英语理解能力和表达能力,使其体会出英汉两种语言的思维方式和文化内涵的异同。
Space is one of the perspectives for the human beings to learn about the world and to express their cognition. As a result,spatial metaphors prevail in human languages and thinking,and they reveal how languages are construed in the process of human cognition. This paper makes a study on the spatial metaphors that are utilized in describing time,scope,state,quantity,and social status,so that we shall achieve a better understanding of the nature of space and spatial metaphor. Hopefully,this research will be enlightening for EFL learners to learn vocabulary and grammar learning,and will help to cultivate their cross-cultural awareness.
