摘要
本文主要探讨了戏剧活动在激发和维持ESL学习者口头语学习内部动机方面的潜在功能。其优势主要体现在三个方面,首先体现在能够为学习者提供一个进行自然意义协商的语境;其次是能够为活动参与者带来口语学习的满足感和愉悦感;最后是能够促使二语学习者对目的语在跨文化语境下的话语模式和模态进行深入思考和学习。
The author explicates the potential functionality of some dramatic activities in stimulating and enhancing intrinsic motivation and furthermore promoting spoken English learning for L2 learners. Dramatic activities may motivate learners from several dimensions: nurturing natural and culture-specific contexts for meaning negotiation, bringing satisfaction and enjoyment and at the same time promoting the perceiving and understanding of the patterns and modalities of speech events. To conclude, these activities serve to elicit and maintain intrinsic motivation for the acquisition of L2 learners’ oral competence and pragmatic ability in inter-cultural communication.
