英语阅读焦虑与阅读成绩的关系研究

A Study on the Relationship between Anxiety and Performance in English Reading

摘要 焦虑是英语学习中很大的情感障碍,它与英语学习成绩密切相关。研究英语阅读焦虑有利于英语教师更加准确地诊断学生的阅读焦虑状况,找出造成学生焦虑的原因以制定应对策略,提高教学效果。本研究以非英语专业的硕士研究生为研究对象,利用外语阅读焦虑量表,对被试的阅读焦虑与阅读成绩的关系进行了研究。通过对阅读焦虑问卷中各小题得分情况进行描述性分析,发现非英语专业的研究生普遍存在阅读焦虑,并就此分析了造成焦虑的原因;通过做焦虑与阅读成绩的皮尔逊相关,得出学生的阅读焦虑与阅读成绩存在显著性负相关,并进一步做了T检验,发现阅读焦虑及阅读成绩在性别这一因素上存在显著差异。 Anxiety is a great affective obstacle in English learning; it is quite related to English achievement. Researches on English reading anxiety favors English teachers a lot. For instance, teachers may diagnose students’ anxiety state more accurately and figure out the factors causing anxiety, which could help teacher to make strategies correspondingly and improve teaching achievement. The present study attempts to investigate the relationship between English reading anxiety and reading performance with the non-English postgraduates as the research subjects. Through the descriptive analysis on each item of the reading anxiety questionnaire, it is found that reading anxiety happens commonly among the non-English postgraduates. The data is favorable to analyze the reasons why students feel anxious in reading. By doing the Pearson Correlation between reading anxiety and reading performance, it is obvious that reading anxiety negatively correlates with reading performance. After doing T-test on the variance gender, significant gender difference is found.
