Some traits and characteristics of Liangshan semi wool sheep are introduced, such as wool and mutton performance, reproduction performance, growth and development, physiological and biochemical character, blood protein polymorphism and chromosome karyotype. The average body weight of ram and ewe is 85 25±3 25?kg and 48 11±4 13?kg, respectively. The average wool yield of ram is 6 55±0 12?kg and ewe is 4 12±0 12?kg. The wool length of ram and ewe is 18 12±0 51 and 15 74±0 21?cm respectively. Its main fineness is 48～50?s. The carcass weight of fed lamb is 16 83±0 76?kg and its dressing percentage is 50 79% in 6 month. The first mating of ewe is 10～12 month and average lambing rate is 111 36%. The number of chromsome is 2n=54. Through long term breeding, some physiological and biochemical traits of Liangshan semi wool sheep have changed in order to adapt to higher altitude and lower oxygen pressure.
