本文根据1963年4—6月在我国海南岛(五指山、榆林、尖峯岭和那大)所采集的439只鸟(分隶于37科。116种)的寄生线虫,经鉴定,共有23种,分隶于13科19属,包括1个新种,9个国内新纪录。此外。
The present paper deals with the parasitic nematodes of birds collected from HainanIsland, during April to June, 1963. After an examination, 439 birds belonging to 116species, 23 species of parasitic nematodes belonging to 13 families and 19 genera havebeen identified. Among them, one is found to be new to science and 9 are recorded forthe first time from China. In addition, 25 new hosts of 21 species of nematodes and2 new locations of 1 nematode are also found (details see attached table). Thelazia (T.) cuculina, sp. nov. Diagnosis: Body filiform, attenuated toward both ends, whitish when living. Cuticlewith prominent transverse striations. Distance between two striae 0.010--0.023 mm.Buccal capsule small and subquadrat in shape, 0.020--0.027 mm in length and 0.020-0.034mm in width. Cervical papillae small and inconspicuous, situated at a distance of0.365 mm from the anterior end. Male: Body 8.256-9.976 mm in length and 0.052--0.079 mm in greatest diameter.Oesophagus club-shaped, 0.636--0.757 mm in length and 0.052--0.077 mm in greatestdiameter. Nerve ring located 0.241--0.309 mm from the anterior end, approximately infront of the middle of the oesophagus. Tail coiled. Cloacal aperture situated at 0.083-0.097 mm from the tail end. Spicules dissimilar and unequal in length, the left one longand slender, with the distal end pointed, 1.035--1.311 mm in length and 0.007--0.010 mmin width, while the right one boat-shaped, with the distal end rounded and the proximalend button-like, 0.158--0.172 mm in length and 0.013 mm in width. Caudal papillae 15pairs divided into two sections: preanal papillae 13 pairs and postanal papillae 2 pairs. Female: Body 10.84-12.56 mm in length and 0.283--0.430 mm in greatest dia-meter. Oesophagus 0.656--0.774mm in length and 0.068--0.087 mm in greatest dia-meter. Nerve ring situated at 0.275--0.309 mm from the anterior end, approximatelyposterior to the middle of the oesophagus. Tail straight, 0.138--0.152 mm in length,with a rounded apex. Embryonated egg 0.024--0.027 mm in length and 0.015--0.020mm in diameter. Larva in egg 0.098--0.102 mm in length and 0.005--0.007 mm inwidth. Host: Cuculina sparverioides sparverioides Vigors, 1830. Location: Beneath the nictitating membrane. Locality: Wuchih Shan, Hainan Island, South China. Types: Holotype ?, allotype ?, paratypes 5 ? ?, 5 ? ?, all deposited in theInstitute of Zoology, Academia Sinica, Peking, China.
