Hall"Without Guarantee":Review of Hall's Works and Works on Hall

不少伟大的思想家背后往往会不依他们个人意志而出现一个以他们本人为知识生产原材料的工业。尽管霍尔本人学术生涯中积极参与社会斗争已经显露出他对体制化的拒绝,一个以他为研究对象的知识工业却正在形成。本文基于对霍尔的研究以及对霍尔的研究的文献阅读,梳理了霍尔参与的研究与新兴研究领域的关系。如他的编码/解码影响了受众研究,《仪式性反抗》引发了亚文化研究,《监控危机》开创了道德危机的研究。基于霍尔后研究作品的梳理,本文认为,目前存在相互竞争的两种趋势,即将霍尔及其思想作为研究对象,还是在不同的语境下承袭他对社会批判的分析。本文提醒了前一种趋势有可能在中国学术界的宰制,而呼吁一个不作保证的霍尔。

In this article,Hall's works and works on Hall had been reviewed in the way that,every significant research project of Hall lead to a new research area.The Encoding/Decoding strongly in- fluenced the audience research,the Resistance Through Ritual lead to the subculture studies,the Policing the Crisis opened a new area of'moral panic'researches.Based on the outlining the major Post Hall works,this article argues that there two competing tendencies to date:one is consider Hall himself and his research texts as the objects of researches,the other is to follow his critical analysis on the society in a maybe different context.As Hall's works begin to be introduced to China,there will be the possibility that the first tendency maybe prevailing even dominated in the Chinese acade- my.This paper warned the emerging dominance of the first tendency and appeal for a HaLt'Without Guarantee'
