A Historic Leap——On the Selection of the Way and Fundamental Experiencesof Tibetan Economic Modernization and Social Progress

和平解放后,特别是西藏自治区成立以来,西藏的社会进步举世瞩目,现代经济建设的发展速度令世人惊奇,半个多世纪取得的重大成就堪称历史奇迹。西藏社会从封建奴隶制到社会主义社会跨越式的发展道路是长期的历史选择的必然结果,其社会经济的发展历程可分为和平解放初期、民主改革、"文化大革命"和改革开放4个历史时期。半个世纪的发展历程,昭示了西藏走向社会主义现代化的历史必然性,揭示了西藏现代化发展的客观规律,积累了丰富而宝贵的历史经验。

After the peaceful liberation of Tibet, especially the foundation of Tibet Autonomous Region, the great progress made in Tibet has become the focus of world attention. The rapid development of its modern economic constructions made the world surprised and its great achievements in this period also worked a his- torical miracle. The developing way in which Tibet is grown from feudalism slavery to socialism society by leaps and bounds is the natural result of its long-term development. Tibetan economic growth experienced four historical periods, i.e. the beginning stage of peaceful liberation, the period of democratic reform, Cultural Revolution, and reform and opening to the outside world. The course of half century's development displays that it is the inevitable result for Tibet to choose the socialism modernization. It also shows the objective law of Tibet's modernization development and accumulates rich and precious historical experience for Tibet's con- structions. A brilliant summary is offered in this paper.
