亚洲电影作为当前世界上最为活跃、最富成长性的电影生态圈,近年来在工业和艺术上成绩显著。但由于亚洲的文化、政治、经济在近代的总体落后状态,和好莱坞、欧洲电影的先发优势以及后来好莱坞电影的一家独大等原因,亚洲电影的影响力仍主要局限于地区和民族文化圈内。同时,亚洲电影由于各国的背景不同,其内部也具有比欧洲电影更多的差异性和多样性。
