Classical Education in Britain was criticized by the people in the period of the World War I. The educationist of Britain, Livingstone, considered that classical education could play the key role of training students' reason and molding students' national spirits, traditional liberal education not only had the reason for existing in the era in which science and technology had been developing rapidly but also should hold the dominant position in education. The author considers that Livingstone's thoughts can give us some reference for the implementation of humanities education, the mergence of humanities education and scientific education.
