TEM-4 is a national examination which enjoys good reliability and validity, aiming at testing the ability of the students in using English comprehensively. It directs teaching to train students strictly and all-roundly in basic English skills for the purpose of making solid foundation for advanced English learning. Due to the importance of TEM-4, colleges are supposed to direct and train English majors according to the requirements of the examination and the characteristics of students, in the hope of that it will help promote students ability in using English comprehensively.
