八十年代初以来的改革开放,为人民生活的改善带来了丰富的内容。服装的变化之大,成为现代社会一大奇观。中国古代曾被称为'礼义之邦'和'衣冠王国',服饰文明有着光辉的历史。自鸦片战争失败以来,内忧外患不断,逐渐失去昔日的光彩。传统服饰格局不复存在,新时代的审美观还未稳定建立起来,着装有些混乱,这是与当前建设社会主义现代化的任务很不相称的。文明着装,实现着装的规范化,就是要求人们在现实生活中,充分发挥服装材料、制衣工艺和着装技巧的潜力,最大限度地改善人们的社会形象,为安定、祥和的社会生活增添光彩。为此,必须充分发挥榜样的示范作用,要加强引导,持之以恒,使文明着装成为人民生活不可缺少的组成部分,促进物质文明和精神文明的建设。

Ever since the beginning of'Reformation of Economy and Opening to World'in early eighties,a great improvement has been realized in the daily life of common people.The extraordinary change in clothing has became a marvellous evidence of the new era.The ancient china used to be well-known as'A country of Etiquette'and'The kingdom of Dresses'.There was a splendid history in clothing and ornament in China.The defeat of Opium War had brought about a continuous dometic troubles and imperialist invasion on her.The old luster in history was gradually faded and no new aesthetic judgement on clothing was formed. It made the people in China dressing in a confused appearance for a long time.This was not approriate to the demand of the socialist moderniza- tion.Clothing in civilized manner and realizing normalization are very necessary.It requires the people to develop the material,technology and style of clothing to a maximum extent in order to improve the social image of the masses and to add luster to the social life.(We must show the exemplary influence of the outstanding models.) A positive leading on clothing for a long time is very important in keeping the civilized cloth- ing to be an integrated component of the life.It will promote the con- struction of spiritual and material civilizations.
