摘要
Botulinum toxin (Botox) acts presynatically at thenerve terminals to prevet calcium - dependent release ofacetylcholine, causing temporally paralysis of the target-muscle injected. The effects generally last about 3~6months. The characteristics of Botox can be summarized asthe following: specific attack and reversible effects, whichare efficacious in controlling the symptoms of patients withmovement disorders involving neuronal origins.
