The Knots Tying China to the World——A brief introduction to "knot culture" and artistic design

从原始社会"结绳"而来的生产与生活方式,给我们带来了远古的智慧-"结文化",作为一种行为和一种结果的"结"字本身代表着创新,即物质的新生与文化的新生。中华文明5000年来积淀的传统精神"和合"观、"天人合一"都是"结"文化的突出表现,"结文化"对当今世界的意义已经超越了中国本土,以艺术设计为载体,结合东、西方文化精华,于中国是契机,于世界是必然。

As the wisdom of our progenitors,th'eculture of knot'originates from the production and living style of tying knots in primitive society.Defining as an action or an effect,the Chinese character,jie,also means creation of material and culture.For a history of 5,000 years,the traditional Chinese spirits of' Unity' and 'Unity of universe and man'have always been one of the typical results of'culture of knot'.However,the culture of knot is much more significant to the world now.And synergizing the essence of Eastern and Western cultures by artistic design is an opportunity for China and also inevitable for the world.
