A Functional and Rational Tendency in Modern Design

西方世界在进入20世纪之后,其社会形态就已经呈现出全面的现代化特征。在其中,现代经济形式的确立与生产领域的工业化是最为突出的特征。肇始于西欧的现代主义设计正是以此作为其产生与发展的地基,同时它也因此被烙上工业时代的痕印,这些时代痕印被根植在了那些透过其敏锐的眼光能够认清时代发展趋势的设计家们所倡导的设计理念里,但它也外化为最终的设计实践之中。而设计里的功能主义与理性主义则宣告了新设计时代的到来。

After 1900,A new era with the chracteristic of modernisation have been revealed totally in western world. It was remarked especially by us with its establishment of modern economical form and industrialisation. Modern Design,as beginning of 20th century in western Europe,have just emerged and developed from them. As a result,it went alone with the time of industrialisation.Such trail was represented by the idea of the modern designers,whose insight helped them doing so,as well as been practised by them fully. A functional and rational tendency,viewed as a landmark,declared a new time of design.
