Chinese painting and calligraphy has a long history,being rich in aesthetic connotation.The creative application of the aesthetic spirit of Chinese painting and calligraphy in modern book design has been mainly reflected in three aspects:the overall emphasis on the harmony;the perfect usage of white and black,the pursuit of simplicity;the unique combination of form and content,the relation of the intrinsic momentum.The aesthetic spirit of Chinese painting and calligraphy not only does well to the decoration of books and enhancing readers’ interests,but also reflects national characteristics and modern spirit,expands the influence of the traditional Chinese aesthetic spirit.
