Criticism of Liu Sheng and Chang

本文考证了乐府诗中的两个颇引人注目的人物——刘生和王昌,认为二人都是在风起云涌的武装反对王莽的浪潮中萌生的。像许多传说人物一样,刘生与王昌也存在着“层累式叠加”的现象。东汉时期地位极为显赫的东平宪王刘苍生平事迹的融入,对刘生形象的演变以及《刘生》、《东平刘生歌》在六朝的盛行起了非常重要的作用。而刘生的某些特征融入了王昌的形象,则使得王昌成为传说中著名的美男子。

This thesis criticizes Liu Sheng and Wang Chang who were very remarkable personas in Yuefu Poems(乐府诗)and deemed that they both came into being in the billowy beacher of armed opposing Wang Mang. There also exits the phenomena of superposition layer upon layer as many leg- endary people.Liucang's status was very eminent in Dong Han era.The per- meation of his stories have played an very important role in the evolvement of Liu Sheng's image and the prevalence of Liusheng(《刘生》)and Dongping- liushengge(《东平刘生歌》)in Liuchao era.Some characteristics of Liu Sheng permeated into Wang Chang's image,which brought that Wang Chang became the famous legendary Apollo.
