汉语隐喻英译的认知简析(英文)

摘要 隐喻作为语言中一种普遍存在的现象,主要是通过跨领域的映射来表达新的内涵,从而使表达更加生动、富于感染力。由于源语言与目的语的差别,即两种语言读者对同一喻体认知的出发点不同,所以在翻译过程中要考虑认知的因素。隐喻的本质就是用一种事物的理解去体验另一种事物,所以隐喻是两个认知领域的语义互动,它有三个必不可少的条件:主体,喻体和喻义。传统隐喻的研究一直局限在修辞学研究的范畴.认知语言学从认知的角度对隐喻进行研究,一改传统的把隐喻看作纯语言现象的研究方法,在语言学界掀起了一场隐喻的认知科学革命。本文试图在全面分析隐喻概念的基础上,从认知的框架出发,对汉语隐喻的英译问题进行分类探讨,希望对译者在隐喻翻译的实践中提供一定的借鉴。 Metaphors,common in language,mainly by interdisciplinary mappings,make statements more vividly and charmingly. Because of the differences—the different readers’ cognition to the same metaphorical target between source language and target language, the cognitive factors should be considered in the process of translation.The nature of metaphor is to understand and experience one kind of subject matter through another kind.So it is the semantic reflection and interaction of two different semantic fields in cognitive domain. Subject,vehicle and metaphorical meaning are the three indispensable conditions.Traditional studies usually regard metaphor as a rhetoric device.However,cognitive linguistics pursue the research from the angle of cognition and change the traditional opinions of regarding metaphor as a kind of pure linguistic phenomenon,which evokes the metaphor s cognitive revolution.This paper,based on cognitive perspective and a comprehensive analysis of metaphorical concept,tries to do classified research on Chinese Metaphors Translation into English.And it also hopes to be of a help in translator’ s practice of metaphor s translation.
