The trend of the aftershock activities of the magnitude 8.1 earthquake to the west of the Kunlun Mountains′ Pass is discussed, based on an analysis of some related data, including the character of the relative motion of the seismogenic fault′s two walls, the comparison with historic earthquakes, changes of seismicity patterns, and characteristics of the earthquake sequence etc. The results show that the magnitude of the largest aftershock of this magnitude 8.1 earthquake is expected to be about 6.0.
