On November 13th, 2005 an explosion hap-pened in the aniline unit of the Bi-Benzene Factory under PetroChina Jilin Petrochemical Company. In the accident 6 people were killed and more than 30 people wounded. Accord-ing to the report from accident spot, the ex-plosion took place in the nitrification work-shop due to a wrong operation, which caused benzene vapor spreading out and more than dozen thousand citizens being sparse.PetroChina Jilin Petrochemical Company, a comprehensive chemical company, has an aniline production capacity of 136 000 t/a.
