The rapid development of the poly-ester sector and the drastic expan-sion of polyester (polyethylene glycolterephthalate) upstream raw materialPTA (purified terephthalic acid) unitshave led to a sharp demand increaseof PTA upstream raw material PX(para-xylene) in China. There is there-fore a serious supply shortage in thedomestic PX market in recent years.
