Germany’s LANXESS and Taiwan’s TSRCCorporation will enter into a 50:50 jointventure in Greater China called LANXESS-TSRC(Nantong) Chemical Industrial CompanyLtd. The two companies are jointlyinvesting US$50 million (EUR 36 million)in a new plant that will produce nitrile rubber(NBR) in Nantong, northwest ofShanghai. The plant will have an initial capacityof 30 000 tons per year and servethe rapidly growing Chinese market withhigh-quality grades of NBR.Groundbreaking is scheduled for September2010, and production is expected tostart up in the first half of 2012.
