1.The market was depressedin 2009In the first half of 2009,the negative impactof the global economic crisis on the strontiumcarbonate industry reached its extreme.Due to stagnant sales,many strontium carbonateproducers in China were forced toreduce or even cease production.Some operatedat only 17% of capacity.With theintroduction of various stimulus policies,thedownstream magnetic materials market beganto bottom out in the second half of 2009.In 2009,China produced 159 000 tons ofstrontium carbonate in total,with the averageoperating rate of 38.7%.
