Spanish CEPSA will build a phenol/acetone plant at Caojing,Shanghai, eastern China, following the approval by the NationalDevelopment and Reform Commission, China’s topplanner.The plant is designed to produce 250 thousand tons of phenoland 150 thousand tons of acetone per year, to meet demandin the Chinese market.At Caojing Bayer’s integrated site, Bayer MaterialSciencehas doubled its 100 000 t/a polycarbonate (PC) facility to 200000 t/a since early 2010.(CCR2008 No.24)
