From theoretical physics,Jeans rule can be derived approximately.It is applicable to the planets,satellites,asteroids and meteoroids in the solar system.The condition satisfying Jeans rule,is just the necessary condition for a given species of particles to be major atmospheric composition of the planets having dense atmosphere.
