Reproduction of Prose Style in Translation——A Comparative Study of Two English Versions of Yong yuan de chongjing yu zhui qiu

文学翻译是一项译者的再创造实践,散文的翻译尤其如此。如何在翻译中再现散文的风格和意韵是译者的终极追求。本文试通过对萧红的散文名作《永远的憧憬和追求》的两个不同英译本的赏析, 探讨译者如何在遣词造句、布局谋篇等方面再现散文原文优美的意韵和风格,以及译者的差异性对翻译的影响。

Literary translation, especially prose translation, is actually the translator's recreation practice. So the reproduction of prose style and flavor in translation is all translators' ultimate goal. This paper intends to do a comparative study of the two versions of Xiao Hong's famous prose--Yong yuan de chong jing yu zhui qiu. It aims to explore how the two translators represent the source text's flavor and style on the lexical, syntactical and discourse levels. The paper also attempts to show how the translators' diversity influences their translations.
