The Hindu social-religious reform movement which happened in the nineteenth century was called'the Enlightenment in the ideological domain' in the history of India. It enlightened the people's thought and contributed to the social progress in India. The author will analyze the course of this movement lengthways and transversely.And the topic of this thesis is the comment and analysis on the phases and characteristics of this movement.
