On Eagleton’s Culture Theory Concept

特里·伊格尔顿的《理论之后》以一种不同于作者以前的叙述方式肯定并展示了理论的重要性,表达了其对理论坚定的信念,本文主要探讨以下三方面:一、理论之后是否仍有理论;二、伊格尔顿在本书中提出的理论补救措施即需要一种深刻揭示人类"真、善、美"及"死亡与价值"的意义的道德批评及其意义;三、伊格尔顿的反思精神给予中国当代理论界的思考。

Terry Eagleton's 'After Theory' shows us the importance of theory in a way different from his previous narrative style and expresses his firm belief in the theory. This article focuses on the three aspects as follows: whether there is theory after theory, the significance of the theory remedies proposed by Eagleton in this book, which is a type of moral criticism revealing deep meaning of human’s 'truth, goodness and beauty' and 'death and the value', and the thinking brought to the Chinese contemporary theorists by Eagleton’s spirit of reflection
