The Research and Enlightenment on Economic Changes of Quemoy from the Perspective of Cold War

1949年末,随着国民党在金门驻军的急剧增加,金门地区的传统经济开始瓦解,具有战地特色的金门农业、工业和新兴工商业在短时间内发展起来。尽管如此,但国民党政府发展金门经济的真实目的在于,一方面通过发展金门经济增强自身实力,为将来"反攻大陆"做准备;另一方面,金门经济的发展,可以最大限度地向海峡对面的大陆施加心理压力,以达到"不战而屈人之兵"的目的。

At the end of 1949,as Nationalist military forces to Quemoy increased sharply,the traditional economy, with the feature of battlefield,began to disintegrate,and the agriculture industry,the emerging industry and commerce thrived.However,the real goal of KMT government developind the economy in Quemoy was,on the one hand to enhance its own strength to prepare for Recovering the mainland,and on the other hand,that the economic development of Quemoy would exert greatest pressure to the mainland on the other side of Taiwan Strait,so as to achieve the goal of defeating the enemy without combat.
