语体是社会语言学的一个重要课题 ,人们在利用语言表达思想 ,进行交际的时候 ,应该根据自己的身份、地位、所处的环境以及交际的内容等 ,使用恰当的语言形式 ,使自己在特定的场合所使用的语言得体。主要探讨了英语中的正式语体、非正式语体及构成不同语体的词汇。

English style is an important subject in social linguistic science. To express ideas and communicate with each other, one should employ proper language style according to his identity,status and context and content of communication so that the language used is suitable on specific occasions. The paper mainly discusses the two styles of English language: formal and informal styles, the use of the words, and the grammatical structures in the respective style with the aim of improving our communication ability in English
