The target type flowmeter is a novel logging tool to meet the need of the polymer injection profile logging. This paper presents the measurement principles,downhole tool structure,operating mode,technical specifications and a log example of the tool. As there is no any rotational part on it,the flow meter is suitable to measure the flow of high viscosity liquid which contains small size solid grains. It can be used to measure multi zone polymer injection well and water injection well in both continuous mode and stationary mode.
