Safety of chronically oral administration of compound povidone iodine in New Zealand rabbits

目的 :对新西兰兔长期应用复方聚维酮碘片的安全性进行评价。方法 :2 4只新西兰兔随机分为 3组 ,包括对照组 ,0 .32 ,3.2mg·kg-1·d-1复方聚维酮碘片口腔给药组 ,连续给药 30d。结果 :口腔给予复方聚维酮碘组兔的体重、脏器指数、血常规和血清生化指标 (GPT、GOT、TP、BUN、Cr)与对照组比较无明显差别 (P >0 .0 5 )。结论

OBJECTIVE To study the safety of long-term administration of compound povidone iodine (CPI) in New Zealand rabbits.METHODS 24 New Zealand rabbits were randomly divided into 3 groups (n=8). Two groups were administrated orally with 0.32 or 3.2 mg·kg -1·d -1 CPI respectively, the rest animals served as the control group.RESULTS 30 d later, the body weights, organ coefficients, CT, hemogram and biochemical indexes (GPT, GOT, TP, BUN and Cr) in CPI treated groups had no significant difference compared with those of control group. CONCLUSIONS Chronically oral administration with CPI resulted in no obvious toxicity on rabbits.
