摘要 中国移动10月开通多媒体短信MMS。目前,不少业内人士对移动MMS的前景看好,认为其将会得到广泛应用,并成方继SMS之后无线非语音业务应用方面的新的闪光点。然而,一些人士也表示了怀疑态度。那么,MMS究竟是一个大馅饼,还是又一个陷阱呢? China Mobile has decided to launch the MMS service in October. Last week, Ericsson and Huawei gleefully shared MMSC orders. Insiders have shown due enthusiasm towards the prospect of the service. Some are even expecting take-ups by the mass market. If it does come true. MMS is to be another bright point in the wake of SMS as a non-voice data application Whereas, some people seem more reserved on this issue. Then, is MMS a trick or treat? It is clear that the launch of MMS falls short of a nice selling point and comes with a dismal future of 3G applications. MMS may be regarded as a life raft to relieve mobile carners from the pressure of the next round of competition. If it can make it, it will cultivate a mature market to make 3G implementation a matter for sure. Though the future of MMS seems not so certain, it is believed that, on the back of Monternet, an industrial chain seen to be of adjusting and propelling power, MMS is nonetheless promising service in the days to come.
