The method of wellbore stability analysis of weak-surface formation is used to detect the strength parameters of full scale core from a well in Tarim Oilfield for determining broken area on the weak-surface, then detecting triaxial strength parameters in the area. The least drilling fluid density 1.80 g/cm3 is calculated for preventing the collapse of weak-surface formation, the drilling fluid of 1.81 g/cm3 is deployed in the field, there is no collapse of wellbore below 5760 m.
