九十年代以来 ,全世界都在享用Internet上丰富、方便、快捷、廉价的信息资源。但随着Inter net的规模急剧膨胀 ,3 2位IP地址即将耗尽。为了避免因IP地址耗尽导致Internet崩溃 ,学术界从 90年代初便开始研制新的IP地址系统 ,1994年正式提出了新一代IP协议 ,简称IPng ,正式名称为IP第六版 ,简称IPv6。本文作者介绍IPng的基本原理和新功能。

Since the 1990s,People all over the world have been enjoying the abundant,convenient,cheap information service from Internet.The Internet has been growing very rapidly.The current 32 bit IPv4 address structure of Internet would be exhausted in near future.In order to avoid the Internet breaking down when its address space are exhausted,The Internet Engineering Task Forces (IETF) will start efforts to select a successor for IPv4,and develop a new technical criteria,that is IPv6 or IPng.This article introduces the basic principles,new functions of IPng.
