语言同其它事物一样时时处于发展变化之中，本文对英语由曲折性语言逐渐演变成为分析性语言的过程进行阐述，同时也对体裁形式上的变化做一探讨，促进人们对言文合一这一历史必然性认识。

Language, like other things in the world, is always in the course of changing. This paper is not only to discuss the course in which English has changed from the inflective language to the analytic 1anguage, but also to discuss the change of literary forms, in order to facilitate others to understand the tendency of combination of spoken and written English.
