Cultural Similarity and Limitation of Translatability

文化是一个十分宽泛的概念 ,趋同是文化发展的必然趋势。文化差异是英汉翻译中的主要障碍 ,由于对原语文化的不了解而造成的翻译失误随处可见。文化趋同增加了英汉两种语言的共核成分 ,在一定程度上提高了英汉两种语言中民族物质化符号、民族意识化符号、民族地域化符号和民族社会化符号的可译度。

Culture is a concept concerning a wide range.Cultural development will necessarily lead to a tendency in cultural similarity.Differences in cultures is the major barrier in English-Chinese translation.Very often we may find incorrect translations done by translators who are not familiar with the culture of source language.Tendency in cultural similarity will increase the common things shared by English and Chinese and thus greatly decrease the limitations in translatability of those signs with cultural meanings.
