摘要
The paper perceives the shift from the traditional social philosophy, which doesn’t distinguish fact from value, to the modern social science, which strictly distinguish the two, as a knowledge response to the issues of modernity. Taking the classic masters of sociology of Durkheim, Marx and Weber as example, the paper explains that this response highlights the stress on the objectivity in social scientific study during the whole modern times. Finally, the author analyses the recent questioning and subversion by postmodernist of the pursuit of this objectivity.
