Synthesis Technique of Clomazone and Its Approach to Increase the Quality

An improved method for synthesizing the herbicide clomazone was suggested using hydroxylamine hydrochloride, 2-chloro-2,2-dimethylpropionyl chloride and o-chlorobenzyl chloride. Its total yield reached more than 70%. An approach to increase quality of the product was put forward.
