The thermophysical property of homemade insulating materials was approached and compared with the same product from abroad in order to increase the reliability and insulating efficiency of the insulating materials used in vinyl cracking furnace in China.It is showed that the service life of the insulating materials can be extended by optimizing the crystalline phase composition of the materials,and the technical means to improve the performance of homemade insulating brick is to optimizing its microstructure(mainly the shapes and sizes of pores) and controlling its Fe 2O 3 content.
