η~6-Arene complexes are rapidly becom-ing an important part of arene chemistry.They have been extensively used in organicsynthesis.This paper presents a review on theapplications of η~6-arene complexes in organicsynthesis in recent years.The discussion isfocused on the preparation and decomplexationof η~6-arene complexes,and the reactions on thearomatic ring and the branch chain of η~6arene complexes.
