China's WTO Accession and Its Impact on Spatial Restructuring of FinancialCenters in Mainland

已有越来越多的经济学、地理学,特别是一门新兴的学科——金融地理学的学者致力于研究一系列强有力的工具去说明和解释区域金融中心的发展,而“信息腹地论”是研究现代金融地理的一个重要范畴。该理论能帮助学者们研究和了解国际资金流、货币体系、银行和服务机构的位置,以及金融中心的区域形成和发展。

The newly developed sub-discipline of the geography of financeexamines and evaluates the spatial changesamong financial centers. It investigatesinternational capital flows, moneylandscapes, and the location of banking andservice enterprises, as well as the spatialevolution of financial centers. Oneinteresting aspect of the new sub-disciplineis the so-called 'information hinterland'theory. This theory assumes that informationexternalities, asymmetric information, andpath dependence are important factors thatshape the information hinterland anddetermine the development of financialcenters, including their changing rankingsin regional and global hierarchies.
