The use of crown ethers in chromatographyis one of their most attractive applications inanalytical chemistry.Low molecular weight crownethers can be used as a component of bothstationary and mobile phases in liquid chroma-lography.In soluble crown ether resins can beused as stationary phases in liquid chromatogra-phy.Some crown ethers can also be used as sta-tionary liquids in gas chromatography.Crownethers can be used to separate cations anions,and organic compounds.In liquid chromatogra-phy,the cation-binding properties of crownethers are considerably reflected in the chro-matographic behavior.
