The basic knowledge and application of Langmuir-Blodgett (LB) films is introduced. LB polyimide orientation films of ferroelectric liquid crystal are described in detail. In comparison with rubbed orientation films and oblique evaporating orientation films, LB films are found to be more suitable for FELCD.
