Tube fractures in shell type heat exchangers, besides being cacered by structural deficiencies, may also be effacted by steam side parameters. A reduction in steam pressure, an increase in the degree of superheating may all exert destructive influences on interior components by boosting the steam velocity. This is being analysed and discussed by the paper. Tables 2 and ref 1
