Supercritical carbon dioxide extra ction is a technology which makes use of some characteristics of supercritical carbon diox-ide near its critical point to extract substances.As a new technique,it h as many merits such as retaining the b iological activity of products,increasing the extractio n rate and purity of products etc,and the technique' s operation is simple and feasible.T he basic principles and characteristics of s upercritical carbon dioxide extrac tion technology was introduced and i ts research progress of extracting physiologically active substances was reviewed,and its application pr ospects in the field were foreseen.
